
What Will You Learn?
The aim of this qualification is to provide students with the technical and performance skills, knowledge and attitudes to begin establishing a career in the entertainment industry. As young dance performers, students
explore a variety of dance styles and techniques (contemporary, jazz and street) across multiple forms of movement and dance. The skills learnt can be applied to everyday fitness and coordination, to further training in dance and performance, and to a deeper appreciation of dance and the performing arts.

Contribution towards VCE: VM
It is mandated that students studying VCE: VM complete 180 hours of a VET course in a Certificate II or above. This will contribute 2 VET credits towards a student’s program.
Contribution towards VPC
Students studying VPC may choose to include a VET program, however it is not mandated.
Contribution towards VCE
Students will be eligible for five or more units at Units 1 and 2 level and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
ATAR Contribution
Students must undertake scored assessment. This study score can contribute directly to the ATAR. Three course work tasks, (50%), & a performance examination (50%)

Workplacement
A minimum of 20 days work placement is recommended.
Clothing/Equipment/OH&S and Materials Fee
Appropriate loose, comfortable clothing for dance instruction
Materials Fee To be paid for by DET for students attending public schools. Independent and Catholic schools will discuss fees with their families.
Program commencement is subject to enrolment numbers.
