What will you learn?
Set yourself up for a career in creating and styling in this entry level program that will let you explore the world of hair and beauty and to get a feel for the industry. You will learn the basics of shampoo and basin services, braids, apply colouring products, dry hair to shape, visual merchandising as well as developing your communication and customer service skills in our simulated workplace ‘Uni Style Salon’.

Program Delivery
This program is a completion of the certificate over two years.
Location: Fed TAFE, Horsham
Contact: Wednesdays during school terms 9:20am to 3:20pm
Work Placement
A minimum of 40 hours work placement is recommended by the VCAA
Clothing & Equipment
Appropriate uniform, including footwear, must be worn each week with further information at Induction Day or in the Fed TAFE Student Handbook. Own laptop and USB to be brought to class each week

Paid for by Department of Education for Government students. Independent and Catholic students to discuss with your school VET Co-ordinator
Program commencement is subject to enrolment numbers.
Accreditation
Contribution towards VCE: VM
A Certificate II or above VET course is mandatory for students studying VCE-VM. 180 nominal hours or above equals two VET credits
Contribution towards VPC
Every 90 nominal hours of VET equals one unit of credit
Contribution towards VCE
Recognition of up to four VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level
ATAR Contribution
No ATAR contribution
